"To recite the Rosary is
nothing other than to contemplate
with Mary the face of Christ....
I desire that during the
course of this
year the Rosary should be especially emphasized and promoted in the
various Christian communities.
I therefore proclaim the year from October 2002 to October 2003 the Year of the Rosary." An Apostolic Letter called "Rosarium Virginis Mariae" -Pope John Paul II
“The Pope has declared October 2002 to October 2003 inclusive the “YEAR OF THE ROSARY.” The call is not for just a year, but to use this year to promote the Rosary, rediscover the Rosary, learn to pray it better thereafter.” – Fr. Robert J. Fox
The Holy Father has added five more mysteries to the Rosary. These Mysteries are called the Luminous Mysteries or Mysteries of Light. These Mysteries focus on the public life of Jesus when he proclaims the Gospel of the Kingdom.
